Kim's Biography
A former professional dancer and actress, Kim now casts projects in the Midwest, as well as the Los Angeles market and nationwide. She began her casting career in St. Louis, The first two projects she completed casting for won Emmy Awards. With a multitude of projects winning awards, the St. Louis Production community took notice of her unique ability to locate and spot true talent. Since then, due to her integrity, professionalism and abilities, she became the first Casting Director in the State of Missouri to become a member of the Casting Society of America, and one of only eleven professionals accepted into the organization at that time. She has been responsible for International Feature Film Projects, the first of which earned “Best Movie”, “Best Actor”, and “Best Actress” awards in Beijing, episodic television (including her work on MY HAUNTED HOUSE, MY CRAZY EX, and BATTLE OF THE SEXES on LMN), music videos, national television commercials and print advertisements, having completed casting for more than 800 projects.
Hanson Entertainment Industries, Inc. currently maintains a database list of more than 7,000 talent, and continues to search out new and fresh faces so we are able to quickly and efficiently meet our clients needs in providing talent of all types. Although Kim loves auditioning actors, she is equally adept with reality casting and has been a part of casting well known shows such as HELL'S KITCHEN and the groundbreakding show, INTERVENTION.
In addition to working as a full-time Casting Director, Kim was an instrumental part of creating and building the "Regional Casting Committee" within the CSA, to bridge the knowledge and resources of casting directors in the New York and Los Angeles markets, with their fellow professionals in other regions. As the first regional member to be voted on the National Board of Directors, she also initiated the creation of the Reality Casting Committee, leading to the addition of an Artios Award for non-scripted casting. As a member of CSA for nearly 2 decades, she has also been a member of the Artios Committee, the Education and Training Committee (helping to create a program for future casting professionals), the Chair of the Regional Casting Committee and completed two full terms as member of the National Board of Directors, elected by her peers in casting, worldwide. Although she is moving on from her time with CSA she is proud of what she accomplished during her time with the organzaiton.
Kim has also been a guest panel speaker at various events through SAG (Screen Actors Guild) and other events, to share knowledge with both national and regional talent and increase the awareness of talent and casting professionals outside of the NY and LA markets. In 2018 she was the guest panelist and teacher in Lithuania. Additionally, she is a proud member of the Television Academy on the national level.
